Congratulations to the Varsity team and Coaches for being Regional Champions
Commemorative Patch. Per Coach Sherman, 2011 commemorative football patches for letter jackets have been designed and are available to order at Nill Brothers at 119th and Metcalf in the Rosana Square Shopping Center. Nil Brothers will not accept phone orders for the Regional Champion patches so if you wish to order one you will need to drive to their store at Rosanna Square to place the order.
The patch style is identical to the photo of last year’s District Champions patch.
SME Letter Jackets. If you are interested in ordering an SME letter jacket, you can do so at Nil Bros Sporting Goods at 119th & Metcalf or through Mark Harper at Game Time Sports. Mark Harper’s number is (913) 271-6060. Nil Bros usually has a limited number of SME jackets in stock. The jackets sold by Mark Harper are custom made and orders with Mark must be placed by Wednesday, November 23rd with delivery expected after New Year’s Day.
Season Highlight DVD. A limited number of season DVDs are available for purchase. There are 16 videos on the DVD and the cost is $10.00. Checks should be made payable to Lancer Gridiron Club. Orders can be sent to me at:

Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual SME Lancer Football Golf Tournament. Shotgun start at 12:30pm on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Brookridge Golf Course (103rd and Antioch in Overland Park).Proceeds raised will help fund the following:
* SME Football Camp scholarships for all grades
* Summer camps and tournaments
* Team equipment: practice equipment, medical/first aid, training room, 7-on-7 uniforms, game day coats, coaches headsets, travel bags for players, repaired video camera, etc.
5th Quarter gatherings.

Be sure to visit the Forms page of this website to download the required SMSD Athletic Participation Packet, Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Form, and the new District Concussion Release Form. All three of these documents must be completed and turned in to Gayle O'Grady in the SMSD office prior to the first day of practice (8/15).

JOIN Lancer Gridiron Club and Support Your SME Football Teams!
The Lancer Gridiron Club was founded to support and promote the Shawnee Mission East football program and all high school Lancer football players and coaches. Our organization is open to anyone in the community; parents, alumni, and businesses. Our goal is to provide year-round support to ensure that the program is successful in creating a winning football environment for the players, coaches, students, parents, and fans in the SME community.
If you haven’t done so already, please join the Lancer Gridiron Club ($50.00 individual or $100 family membership) and contributing to the Player Food Fund (Recommendation: $180 for Sophomore, Junior, and Senior players). Items covered by the player food fee may include the nutritious dinners prior to games, snacks and after-game food for away games and breakfast during Saturday morning film review throughout the season. Since the Freshman teams have seperate team dinners, we recommend a donation of only $25 to help pay for the extras provided during the season. Any amount you can contribute is appreciated and 100% of the donations benefit the team. Schedule August 15 is the first official practice of the season. All players will be required to have a Physical and a completed Athletic Participation Packet on file with the SME Athletic Director in order to participate. Please contact the club secretary, Lori Rose, lrose@kc.rr.com if you have questions or if you want to verify that we received your Camp Registration or Lancer Gridiron Club information. Despite a heartbreaking 28-24 loss to Olathe South, the SME Lancers can be proud of all their accomplishments during the 2010 season. We clinched the Kansas 6A District 2 Title and share the Sunflower League Championship. The team also set a single-season record for victories.
