Lancer Football Families & Fans,

As our 2014 Gridiron Club closes the book on this history-making season, we feel a deep sense of gratitude to all the players, coaches, parents, and fans for the amount of time, energy and sacrifice and hard work! We are excited to introduce Eric Bamford as the Gridiron Club President for the 2015 season. Please join us in welcoming Eric and his wife Marci, proud parents of #45 Mike Bamford. We look forward to their leadership for the next football season!

Please take time to read this week’s TOP 4!

1. Tonight - Monday, 12/15!
Coach Delaney hopes to see all football players and their families tonight at the Board of Education meeting at SME. Please come for a reception in the cafeteria at 6:30 PM, and then the team will be recognized at the beginning of the 7 PM board meeting in the auditorium for their State Championship season. Players and families need not stay for the remainder of the meeting and will be given the opportunity to leave following the ceremony. Coach Delaney has requested that all players dress nicely as they will be going on stage to be honored. When it’s all over, let’s meet at JOHNNY’S one last time to celebrate the season!

2. Wednesday, 12/17!
State Championship t-shirts will be available for pickup this Wednesday from 7 to 8 PM in front of the main gym at SME. Remember, this final order required a pre-order/ pre-payment!

3. Game Photos Available for Purchase!
Marcia Minkoff, proud mom of Jared Minkoff #78, spent the entire season on the sideline photographing each football game, and made it a point of taking pictures of each player on each team. Visit her website and check out the photos of the 2014 season:

Gary, our representative from Balfour, will be outside the auxiliary gym (before the banquet from 3 to 4 PM and after the banquet from 6 to 7 PM) to help with sizing of letter jackets and state championship rings and order options. Balfour accepts check, cash, and credit or debit cards for deposits and payments.

All varsity players (sophomores, juniors and seniors) are eligible to get rings and jackets. If you are a freshman who suited up for a varsity game, please speak with Coach Delaney to confirm your eligibility.

STATE RING INFO: Balfour is working quickly to create artwork of the ring that the captains and Coach Delaney have designed.  If the cost of a state ring is a hardship for your family, please speak with Coach Delaney.

LETTER JACKET & PATCH INFO:   Single patches noting each accomplishment (league, sub-state, state...) are available for order, or you are able to get one larger patch with all of the accomplishments listed. Please review the letter jacket price sheet.

T-SHIRT SALES: Due to popular demand, we will be offering a special State Champion t-shirt! This shirt is an updated version—indicating SME as the 6A State Champions— of the popular blue Championship Game Day shirts that sold last week. They will be offered in short sleeve and long sleeve options. (These are not the shirts they will be given to our players, managers and coaches at the banquet.) Order forms will be posted soon on the Lancer Gridiron Club home page and on our Facebook page, and they will also be available at the banquet on Sunday. Orders will be collected at the banquet on Sunday and in the SME Office on Monday and Tuesday, December 8th and 9th. We cannot accept orders by mail or after the end of school on Tuesday, December 9th. This t-shirt sale is pre-order and pre-pay only, and only cash and checks are accepted.

The shirts will be available for pick up on Wednesday, December 17 at 7 PM at Shawnee Mission East.

CHAMPIONSHIP POSTERS:  InTouch Photographic was asked to photograph the Var/JV football players  before their banquet. They designed a commemorative poster that will hold that picture. An order form is included below.
